Japanese Casual Restaurant Watami

I’m sure you’d know by now that Japanese food is the closest to my heart. I’m always up for a serving of California maki/temaki or some dynamite roll. And when I see a photo of a nice bigger-than-normal-sized tobiko slathered California roll, I simply find it hard to pass this by.

Shrimp Tempura Php385.00

We all know that an order of Shrimp Tempura is always a good choice. What I liked about Watami’s Shrimp Tempura is that you can really taste the tenderness of the freshly cooked shrimp.

Salmon and Flying Fish Roe Rice Topping in Stone Pot Php395.00

I actually had a difficult time picking my main entree as I was contemplating between a bowl of ramen or donburi, but eventually this bowl of Salmon Tobiko Donburi won me over. The serving wasn’t as grandiose as it was on the menu, but it was good nevertheless satisfying.

Teriyaki Chicken Steak Php325.00

My mom was curious to try their Teriyaki Chicken Steak so we also had that. The sweet teriyaki sauce smothered chicken meat was complemented by the buttered veggies on the side.

Macha Ice Cream and Anmitsu Dumpling Php125.00

To cap off our meal, we ordered their best-seller macha ice cream. It was served with red bean, jellies, mangoes, mochi balls, and a dash of whipped cream on top.

The green tea flavor is more concentrated compared to what american brands offer.

How was your overall experience? Is the dessert good? Is the place worth trying? 🙂 And how much is the budget? 🙂

Budget i about Php500 per head, tops. But I like indulging in Japanese food so our bill was more than than. >,< Plus we were 6 pax so each of us had a share of something to try as much as we can. Overall experience is great 🙂 It was actually our 2nd time there. 🙂 I wish they'd have more maki selections, though.
