Product Review: Etude House Color My Brows in 02 Light Brown

In case you didn’t know, our eyebrows play a very important role in our lives. While our brows may seem like harmless little growths of hair, in reality they are so much more. Eyebrows frames our eyes and they have the power to transform a face.

The first thing I learned in makeup class is the importance of shaping and grooming my brows. Back when I didn’t know the importance of having well-groomed eyebrows, here’s how I looked.

Not bad, I know. Along with my current driver’s license, passport, and all the other ID photos I took 2 years ago, I had putol brows.

Eversince I was taught the proper shape and length and all that jazz with brows, I make sure to make it part of my daily makeup routine and NEVER leave the house without a decent pair of tailed brows.

Now here comes Etude House Color My Brows in 02 Light Brown. Since dying my hair brown early this year, I have been trying to get a lighter brow product for my eyebrows. They say the rule of thumb is that your brows must be a shade lighter than your hair, never darker. This is to brighten up your face, making it fresher and more youthful.

The photo on the left is how I normally do my brows using my favorite In2It Waterproof Eyebow Colour. But if you want a more defined–but natural looking–brows, check out the photo (on the left) where I used Etude House’s Color My Brows.

If you have lighter hair colour and would need a product to instantly lighten up your brows, Etude’s Color My Brow–as a brow mascara–can effectively do that for you. What I like about it is that the product lasts all day–as compared to just using my In2It Waterproof Eyebow Colour, wherein I sometimes lose my brows at the end of the day. LoL.

The product goes on smoothly and dries quickly. Although I loved its small diamond shaped applicator brush, I still used my slanted eyeliner brush to add definition to my brows while the product is still wet. And since the product dries quickly, it dries in the tube quickly as well. It says in the package that Etude House Color My Brows can last only up to 6 months.

Etude House Color My Brows retails for only Php358.00 and is available locally in two shades. Check out other Etude House’s products by following them on Facebook, and Twitter.

Hey that seems like a pretty reasonable price. I haven’t tried any brow mascaras yet, only eyebrow pencils and powders. I don’t have colored hair though. Do they have clear brow mascaras? Or black ones?

Hi Pat! They have the dark brown one. That would be perfect for dark haired girls. Remember, your brows must be a shade lighter than your hair colour.

Ah yeah! Dark brown would probably suit me well. I’ll definitely check that out. Thanks! 😀

I only wear minimal make-up since I am a college student and I like how defined brows contribute a lot to my no-make-up make up look. I don’t have colored hair so I buy a gray shade of eye brow pencil (from Tony Moly). Some say I should use a dark brown color but I feel like it looks funny with my black hair. Is gray okay for when you have black hair? 🙂

Hi Kat! Gray is okay, normally Koreans use gray. But I’d rather use dark brown. 🙂

I totally agree that eyebrows play a very important role, I can actually forget a lipstick but not brows 🙂 But I never used an eyebrow mascara, just the pencils, what are your thoughts about pencils? what do you prefer?
