By the name of this mascara, we all know that Maybelline’s One by One is specifically for clump-free volume. I normally go for a volumizing mascara when I was to keep a natural look versus using a lengthening mascara when I’m out for some dramatic eyed look.
Maybelline One by One features a patented Lash Catcher brush that promises to coat your lashes individually to keep clumps at bay. It’s basically a convex-shaped plastic brush with 3 bristles per lash to effectively separate them from each other.
Looks fancy. But does the technology work?
Surprisingly, yes! I notice Maybelline’s One by One added up a little volume on my lash and it kept my lashes separated from each other quite well. 😉 I also love that it’s really back, which I think can add volume to your lash. And, of course, this product is also safe for contact lens wearers.
However, I don’t particularly like the smell of this product. The convex-shaped brush also made it hard for me to catch my shorter lower lash without getting some product on my undereye area–which I hate. Also, this product smeared like crazy in the same undereye area and we all know how unpretty that looked.
So if you have oily lids like me, I don’t think this is a good wand to have.
