Top 5 Thursdays: How I Survived the Power Outage

How is everyone doing? I hope all of you are fine and safe throughout the storm yesterday. A huge part of Metro Manila was hit by the power outage. Here’s what kept me sane throughout the whole >12hrs ordeal:

1) Pocket Wifi

When there’s no electricity, your regular home internet modems won’t work, too. That’s why I can not be more thankful for having these yesterday. Also, since my mobile phone’s 3G/LTE was down, what got me connected to everyone through the day was my mobile wifi device.

2) Twitter and Instagram

I was checking my Twitter feed mostly for news and public announcements. Twitter has been the most efficient social media app since Ondoy. I remember getting all my news updates from Twitter first. Instagram was just there for my usual entertainment, haha!

3) Powerbanks!

Oh my, I think I drained all three powerbanks yesterday from charging all my gadgets while the power is out. In times like these, having loads and loads of powerbank really come in handy. It kept my phone, pocket wifi, and tablet alive.

4) Pascual Creamy Yogurt

I found myself grabbing one cup of these after another. What’s awesome about these yogurt is that they don’t need to be refrigerated. Although it’s more yummy when they’re chilled ๐Ÿ™‚

5) Playing with my cats

Having no power peeled me away from my usual activities at home and gave me more chance to spend quality time with my kitties. To keep them from getting scared of the strong winds, I played with them and fed them yogurt. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How about you? What did you do yesterday when the power was out?

I hoard on the 15 peso one because I feed them to my cats, too. They super love it just as much as I do! ๐Ÿ™‚
