Product Review: Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Tropical Mango

My lifestyle’s a bit too wash-and-go and I hardly have time to do extensive beauty routines during the day. But from time to time, I appreciate a good body lovin’.

I recently picked up a new sugar scrub. And though I don’t really do scrubs during shower (I prefer going to a spa and have someone do it for me), the scent of this Tree hut Shea Sugar Scrub in Tropical Mango is simply hard to resist from including it in my shopping bag.

Yes, so the main reason why I bought this is because the lush fruity scent that reminded me of my favorite body wash in high school (which was from Body Shop)… And I love products that take me back to happy memories. 🙂

Checking the label, it says it uses organic shea butter and natural mango puree. Nevertheless, it smells absolutely uh-may-zing!!

It also has a bunch of skin nourishing ingredients like almond oil, macadamia seed oil, avocado oil, etc. Although these ingredients are all PUFA, since this one’s a scrub and you’ll rinse it off anyway,  I thought it should be okay.

I super love how the scrub doesn’t melt off easily compared to other body scrubs that I have previously tried. Since it uses sugar, the scrub is super gentle. I also noticed that it has synthetic beads–which would probably be the reason why the “scrub feeling” lasts longer since these plastic beads don’t melt at all (but are harmful to the ocean bed).

Anyhoo, I’d normally run through some scrub all over my body, in circular motion, after rinsing from using my favorite body wash. I swear, you’d enjoy this simple in-shower treat as the sweet aroma of this product encapsulates you as you rub it all over your body. Also, I love the after-shower feel of my skin every time I use this scrub–my legs feel smoother and my skin feels softer.

I got this recently from Duty Free Philippines at around USD13.50 (with Php46.55 forex that day). How about you? What’s your favorite brand of body scrub? Tell me what you think by dropping a comment below and get a chance to win this month’s Reader of the Month! <3
