Trying out Electric Studio Indoor Cycling

If you’ve been curious about indoor cycling with all of these specialized cycling centers mushrooming around Metro Manila lately, well, ako rin! So I’ve enrolled myself in Electric Studio’s starter package–Php1,500.00 for the first 5 classes–and so far, I’ve been enjoying my rides.

For your first session, it’s important to come in 15-20minutes early since you need to be oriented on how to customize the height of your bike, etc. Here’s Christine doing a demo on how to adjust the bike:

Things to remember when coming to your indoor cycling class at Electric Studio (ES):

  • Bring socks! You don’t have to think about your shoes since ES provides the shoes you’d need for the class. These are specialized shoes that clip on the bike.
  • Bring water. But you can also buy from the studio at Php40.00 per bottle
  • Bring post-workout clothes. ES has shower rooms with Human Nature amenities and towels so if you have to be somewhere after the class, just take a shower and you will be all fresh and dandy.
  • Enjoy the ride! ๐Ÿ™‚

And if you feel that you’re overdressed/underdressed for the class, you can always buy from their choice of ES activewear.

Cameras and phones are not allowed in the class. Buti na lang I was able to sneak in some photos before having my phone handed over to the reception.

Don’t worry if you weren’t able to absorb all the instructions during the orientation, the ES staff are happy to assist you inside the studio.

Ok, so here’s the locker room. No need to bring a padlock since each locker has built-in combination locks. Oh, btw, your phones should stay in your locker. Hehe.

Oh, and did I mention ES provides FREE bananas? Cute diba.

What I love about ES is the convenience of doing everything online. You pay for the classes online, then book and reserve your bikes online. Also, they have ‘themed’ rides every week wherein the playlist will be from 1 or 2 artists only. I tried to enrolled under Usher’s ride last week but it was fully booked after 20minutes of announcing that the classes are open for booking!

I love the weekday classes since there aren’t much people. I’ve been to one Saturday class and it’s almost always full. And since Saturday classes are scheduled one after the other, it can be crowded in the waiting area and the locker room after each class.

I’m on my fourth ride on Friday. So far I’ve enrolled under Cher, Ina, and Butts. You can enroll under Butts and Ina for beginner’s ride. Cher’s class is a bit more intense. Probably one improvement they can incorporate in their website is to put marks which classes are for beginners and which are more advanced riders. ๐Ÿ™‚

Overall, I’m glad I enrolled under their trial sessions. I never thought I’d love indoor cycling. I guess it’s the best cardio workout I can incorporate in my lifestyle (I’m more of a yoga person than doing cardio. lol).

I think KrisTV featured this indoor cycling studio. I am really interested to try this one since I need to loose some weight because I stopped any physical activities like jogging and walkathon when I was operated last year. For a starter class worth Php 1,500.00, I think that’s a good deal. I just hope they’ll have one branch at QC area. ๐Ÿ™‚
