I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews about this brand Origins through Youtube and it got me curious in trying their products when I saw their pop-up store in Megamall a few weeks back.
I dropped by earlier this week to try out their eye cream, which I asked from their SAs specifically that I needed something that can brighten my undereye and the effect shouldn’t just be cosmetic–meaning I need something that can somehow improve the look of my undereye circles even when I don’t have makeup on.
Origins’ friendly SAs recommended me to try their GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream. I have a habit of reading the boxes and ingredients before buying cosmetics and skin care and I was pretty pleased to know that this product can diminish dark circles and puffiness all in one go. Without a doubt, I quickly picked this up and excitedly took it home with me.
What I love about this product is that it doesn’t contain parabens in it. It has loads of great moisturizing ingredients that can benefit my undereye area. Also, I was told by the SA that this eye cream is specifically made for AM, which means, the formulation is light enough to be worn underneath your makeup without causing milia (I stopped using my Clinique Eye Cream because it was too rich for my taste and I was paranoid that I might get milia!).
But does it deliver its promises?
Sadly, no. Despite all the good ingredients, I didn’t notice improvements in my undereye area. The instant brightening claim might be because of the tiny shimmering pigments in the product that can cosmetically brighten the area upon application. But I don’t think this is enough for my yellow under-toned skin.
Also, I read in another article that the jar container is just so wrong for this product since it doesn’t preserve the potency of all the wonderful organic moisturizing ingredients in it. Some of the ingredients in this Origins GinZing eye cream gets oxidized when exposed to light and air making it useless. 🙁
I do, however, keep my jar in the fridge so it’s cool when I apply it on my undereye area. This makes my application more soothing. I’m not sure if the temperature makes a difference in kicking away eyebags, though.
Anyhoo. I would probably still drop by Origins counter and pick up one of their serums. I’m kinda liking the pink facial serum.
I got this for Php1,400.00. If you’re still curious to try this product, you can check out Origins at Rustan’s Department Stores or visit their pop-up store in 2/F SM Megamall near Clinique .
