New Year, New Skin Regimen

Writing about beauty gave me the chance to try out new beauty innovation from different brands across the globe. And though I love trying out new things, I would also like to stick in a regimen that works.

And while our beauty routine has become so complicated with all the new products with different technologies that we want to try, here’s something that I have been doing lately to keep my skin looking healthy and pimple-free.

By just going back to basics.

Cleanse

First step is to get rid of all the dirt and gunk from your face. I clean my face everyday with my favorite facial cleanser and my Clarisonic Mia 2. So no matter cleanser I use, my Mia helps me clean my face better with its sonic cleaning system.

How? Its brush uses a sonic frequency to oscillate back and forth at a rate of more than 300 movements per second, which gives you an incredibly deep and gentle clean. This micro-massaging motion breaks loose any impurities lodged in pores and stimulates the skin, which allows your other products to work better. You’ll notice clearer skin and smaller pores after just a few weeks.

Tone

I use Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant after cleaning my face to get rid of dead skin cells and lessen the appearance of white heads. It’s the most gentle exfoliant in the market. Also, this product promotes collagen for a younger-looking skin.

I only use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Exfoliant once a day since I don’t have any skin discoloration that I want to treat. If you have acne scars, you may use this product twice a day, morning and night, but don’t forget to apply sunblock of at least SPF30-50 before stepping out of the house.

Moisturize

I ditched using regular moisturizers when I discovered these pearl serums. I found them to be as effective in sealing moisture in my face without the icky sticky feel. I love using this Shinagawa Luxe Pearl Essence after I apply Paula’s Choice BHA Toner. It has arbutin, licorice, and aloe extract to brighten your face and keep it moisturized at the same time.

And while I try this and that once in a while, I am determined to stick to these basics to keep my skin away from looking dull and flaky–especially during this cooler season.

Let me know your favorite skin care regimen though the comments! <3

I love using the snail cream line and the collagen line from Etude house. I think that using products of the same product line works more effective on me than when I use toner from another line, for example. 🙂 So I decided to try out using everything from the toner up to the sleeping mask and the effects are awesome. 🙂

I’ve already seen the paula’s choice brand on Ms. Gen-zel’s blog. I also saw you there together with other beauty bloggers invited sa launching ng product here sa philippines. :)For how many mos. mo po nagamit yung toner? I’m having a hard time kasi finding the right toner for me, dati okay naman pero kapag naglalagay ako ng toner parang ang init sa mukha lagi so ang ending, I will skip the toner nalang. For now, I used clean and clear as my cleanser and garnier for exfoliation. Sa moisturizer, I used Physiogel cream(night) sa morning yung green tea waterfull emulsion ng the face shop. Same with abi, I used the collagen line of BB cream with SPF from etude house. I also recommend collagen line of etude house lalo na yung facial wash in gel type siya. So amazin! 🙂
