Nueva Ecija Part 1: Gapan’s Famous Kukon Ramen House

Last week, I had a 2-day trip to Nueva Ecija for some quick R&R. Nueva Ecija is just a 3-hour drive from Manila. So if you’re sick of going to Subic and Tagaytay, here’s another out of town alternative for you. πŸ™‚

Upon reaching Gapan, Nueva Ecija, we stopped over at the town’s famous Kukon Ramen House.

Price-wise, their menu is really affordable. We were in the province, after all. Another thing to note, though, is that the restaurant has FREE wifi! Not a lot of restos in the rural area has wifi, so this is definitely a plus. Oh, and there’s A/C, too! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, we went ahead and ordered their Yakiniku Set (Php600.00) and added some orders of plain rice (Php15.00).

I super love how they marinated the meat. Just a quick trivia, owner of Kukon Ramen House Chef Nap Yuson was a former chef in Rai Rai Ken here in Manila before he decided to open his own Japanese Restaurant in his hometown. So, in a way, you’re tasting Rai Rai Ken’s menu at a much much cheaper price.

Chef Nap also has a chain of other restaurants in Gapan, Nueva Ecija.

If you happen to visit Gapan, Nueva Ecija, you can just conveniently ask the tricycle drivers on the exact location of Nap’s Ramen House and they’ll be happy to direct you there–that’s how famous this establishment is!

Visit their Kukon Ramen House’s Facebook page for more info.

the only ramen i have tried is from Ryuma (i am not sure kung authentic japanese ramen na yun) one order is good for two to three persons, palagi kong nakikita yung Rai Rai Ken sa SM pero bibihira ang kumakain duon siguro dahil nasanay tayong mga pilipino sa jollibee at mcdo, since i havent tried any from Rai Rai Ken ano pong mairerecommend nyo na masarap plus budget friendly?
