So here’s the part two of my Thailand trip post. Sadly, during my weeklong stay, I only had one night to go out and do shopping. You know how I told you our hotel was far from civilization. So anyway, let me take you through my shopping experience in Asiatique!
Asiatique The Riverfront is the first and the biggest lifestyle project in Asia on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It’s a large open-air mall in Bangkok, comparable to our local Tiendesitas, wherein you can find amazing bargain items.
I went there with my friends during our last night in Bangkok. I was so excited to finally have time for shopping. The first thing I was able to buy was a onesie for my favorite nephew for only THB250.00. It came with a cute bear cap (not shown in the photo below).
I was also able to buy nice linen button-down clothes for my beau for only THB200 each. The owner of the store was a Filipina so I got it at a really good price.
For myself, I got some Thai silk shawls as a souvenir. It was cheap at THB100. I got a couple of other colors to giveaway to my friends.
There was also a huge sale with Nike shoes (but I didn’t even bother because running is not my thing).
Asiatique is set to express the traditional by-the-river Thai lifestyle and the trading atmosphere during the colonial age. It is a big complex that boasts 1,500 unique shops with food area, shopping area, beer gardens, and other attractions like Asiatique Sky.
Not that I’m a fan of riding ferris wheels…
Anyway, after our shopping, we hung out by the milk tea stop. Look at how cute this cart is–even the name is so cutesy.
I also loved the bat mobile displayed in the middle of the shopping center.
So when in Thailand, be sure to check out this place. Asiatique The Riverfront is open every day from 5pm to 12mn.
It is accessible by car through Charoen Krung Road, located between Soi Charoen Krung 72 and 76, and its parking lot embraces more than 2,000 cars. You can also get to the place by getting on the BTS Skytrain and drop off at Saphan Taksin Station, then take the Chao Phraya speed boat or Asiatique’s boat service right to the destination.
