If you’ve seen the unboxing of this product on my blog, I’m sure you’ve been waiting for this review. To be honest, I have only used my PMD wand three times–since you have to wait 5-7days after using it again, in essence, you are only able to use this once a week. With this, here’s my personal review and the things that I love about it since adding PMD in my beauty routine.
I started off with the white training disc after watching the instructional video more than twice–just to make sure I get all the things right before trying it out on my skin. Using PMD was such a breeze. Of course, I didn’t experience much dermabrasion while using the white training disc but the suction power of my PMD wand reminded me of my diamond peel treatments in a professional derma clinic.
After my first session with my white training disc, I used the regular blue tip for my face. I made sure I don’t run through the same area more than twice. One PMD session would only last about 2-3 minutes since you’re not supposed to hover over one area for too long either. Being patient is the key.
After my third session yesterday, here are the immediate results that made me really happy about using Personal Microderm:
- I have an enlarged pore on my left cheek that houses this stubborn whitehead (eww!). After having my PMD session, that stubborn, deep-seated whitehead was sucked out of the pore. Yay! This has something that even my usual diamond peel sessions has NEVER done.
- I was able to successfully get rid of the cactus-y whiteheads on my nose after using PMD. Not that it was sucked out of my nose after using PMD, but it made my whiteheads easier to be extracted after my PMD session. So another yay for that! 😉
Since I don’t have acne marks to get rid of to begin with, my primary purpose of having PMD is to get rid of my whiteheads and I am happy that I was able to have that in just three sessions.
What impressed me most is when the huge whitehead on my cheek was effortlessly removed. To me, that was amazing. Though PMD did not suck the life out of the whiteheads on my nose (because I think the pores are too small so it’s much harder to suck out–or I’m just rationalizing, I don’t know), it was fairly easy for me to extract it out with my The Body Shop Double Ended Blackhead Remover. So now my face is really really clean from whiteheads. Yay!!!
Again, you must only use your PMD once a week, doing more than that can harm your skin. I have seen nightmare videos of PMD but I think it’s a matter of knowing your skin well and following instructions to get it right. Don’t eagerly use the more abrasive disc if you are unsure whether your skin can handle it. It’s better to start off slowly but surely.
I feel like sticking with my blue regular disc as I am still unsure if the green one is right for my face. Besides, I’m getting the results I wanted with the blue one, why should I be too eager to move on? 🙂
