If you like the idea of eating fresh seafood à la Dampa but don’t like the idea of actually going there–lucky for you–Bag O’ Shrimps is here, which opened its doors just last February 8!
A food service concept taken from a restaurant in Southern California, Bag O’ Shrimps lets you experience a fresh way of enjoying your seafood in a restaurant. Think of having your Dampa experience in a much better setting–clean dining environment, proper washroom facility, and convenience of being in Taguig!
A few cool things about Bag O’ Shrimps: (1) You have to wear a bib and eat with your hands–although you can ask for plates, utensils, or gloves; (2) You get to choose your sauce and customize the level of spiciness; and (3) You get to include add-ons like sausages and corn in your bag of seafood.
Here are some of the dishes I was able to try:
I super love their Sweet Potato Fries. It’s a healthier alternative to French fries. Plus, it’s not greasy nor oily at all. 🙂
One of their bestsellers, the Crab Bomb Stick is a unique roll of crabsticks, jalapeno, and cheese. Dip it in and enjoy the bomb!
And oh, the bag of shrimps! Bag O’ Shrimps has 4 flavors: Lemon Pepper, Cajun, Garlic Butter, and–if you mix the first three flavors, that’s Bag O’ Mama.
I was really finger-lickingly-good enjoying my Bag O’ Mama shrimps with sausages and corn. Oh, if you don’t have tolerance for spicy food like me, better stick with mild or even ask the server to make your bag extra mild (if possible :P).
Here’s a quick tip, though, the secret to tone down the shrimp’s spiciness is that you have to dip it in lemon squeeze mixed with salt and pepper–a cool tip shared by Jandrew Pastoril, Bag O’ Shrimps co-owner.
