Last week, I was invited for Avon’s 40th Anniversary celebration media preview. I swear, it was like my homecoming for me. In case you guys didn’t know, my last stint in the corporate world was for Avon. I held a Regional Marketing position for Avon Colors handling the entire Asia Pacific. This is truly something close to heart ?
The last 40 years have been remarkable for the country’s #1 direct selling beauty company, and the celebration continues with Amazing Avon, a product expo that counts among the highlights of the company’s Sales Leadership Congress, showcasing the company’s best-selling products and new brands across its various categories.
One of the things that instantly caught my eye was this grandiose Avon Fashions lingerie carousel. It had a feel of Moulin Rouge in it. I wish I can take the entire thing home and put it in my walk in closet–picking your daily bras and panties would’ve been cooler this way.
Our next stop was for Avon Fragrance–this had a fully-LED tunnel that beats a futuristic vibe. It showcased Avon’s latest fragrances and their iconic scents like Imari. Sweet Honestly is something I remember from childhood–my lolo used to buy this from his secretary, an Avon lady, and give it to us as his pasalubong when he comes home from his office.
I can’t believe Avon has been with us for 40 years already! At the heart of Avon’s success is a drive to empower women through beauty, well-being, and financial independence. We spent the morning going around the booths, re-acquainting ourselves with the brands that made Avon a household name. Checking out Avon’s Skincare booth, I was delighted to see that Avon now has their own brand of micellar water–lucky to be able to win a bottle, too!
I enjoyed checking out each booth as most stations had games for everyone to play and when you win, you get to bring home a cool prize from each category. Woot woot!
The event also featured Avon’s latest products and collabs. This 2018, Avon’s Mars Ravelo Pinoy Komiks Heroes line lets you unleash your inner superhero as Avon Philippines marks a historic partnership with the creator of Pinoy pop culture icons like Darna and Captain Barbell.
Through this partnership, Avon hopes to empower even more Filipinas to be their own superhero through earning opportunities and products that continue to inspire.
BUT, what really made me so proud is that Mark by Avon IS FINALLY IN THE PHILIPPINES!
Mark by Avon is something that Avon has been working on since 2014. I remember when I was still handling Avon Colors, I was so jealous of the offerings in North America and Europe since they had Mark in their Avon catalogues.
Mark is an added line in the Avon Beauty category perfect for the more adventurous makeup enthusiasts. It’s for the fearless Filipina who isn’t afraid to #MakeAnEpicMark through fierce makeup looks.
