Pepper’s Neutering Day

July 2013, when Pepper was just 2 months old

I can still remember when Pepper was just this small and weighed 300g. I took him out a lot and he would always stay inside my bag. Pepper’s the most well behaved kitten ever.

Pepper–at 9 months–last February 15, 2014

Look how big he has grown! Now, he’s almost 5kg and is on his 9th month being my baby. It makes me happy whenever I wake up and see him sleeping on my leg. I am so proud of being his mum. I really admire him (and Yoona) every day.

Lately, we noticed that Pepper has started to have urges so my beau and I decided to have him desexed. We also considered that Yoona is on her 3rd month and kittens can start having babies at 4 months.

We took Pepper to MACE Clinic in Mandaluyong to have him neutered. It was an outpatient procedure. We left him there at 9am and took him home by 1pm.

When Pepper got home, we gave him time to sleep and recuperate. We did not feed him anything just yet since the anesthesia might react and cause him to vomit. We gave him lots of water, though. Every day we had to give him antibiotics and make sure his wound is clean by applying Betadine. Today is Pepper’s 7th day after the surgery and so far he’s back to normal. 🙂

Desexing (spaying/neutering) your cat effectively prevents them from having unplanned litters. Neutering helps improve your pet’s health by eliminating chances of prostate or ovarian cancer. It also eliminates the frustration in resisting the natural urge to mate. For male, it eliminates the chances of spraying or urine marking and other dominance-related behaviour.

If you are interested to have your furbaby spayed/neutered, you can go to MACE Clinic in Mandaluyong (near Vets in Practice). They do the procedure every day but be sure to call for an appointment first. The procedure costs Php500 for male puspins and Php600 for female puspins.

Pepper is so lucky to have you as his owner. You really take good care of him. That’s what pets are deserved. ♥
