Photodiary: Taipei 101, Din Tai Fung, and Departure (Part 3)

My last full day in Taiwan was dedicated to shopping. Haha! I was able to go away from our hotel and train-ed my way to Taipei 101.

Of course, we couldn’t pass up Din Tai Fung. You won’t be able to miss it even from afar as the lines are impressively long even for a regular Friday.

Luckily my mom’s friend arrived early and was able to get us a number. Din Tai Fung’s famous for their award winning Xiao Long Bao. A variety of steamed dumplings with juicy meat filling and some soup inside–so be careful in eagerly taking a bite as the soup might spill on your shirt like it did mine! >,<

After dining at Din Tai Fung, we roamed around Taipei 101, which houses various global luxury brands all in one roof. The higher the floor you get, the more expensive the brands are. So you you see Dior and Bvlgari are right up there.

On our departure day, we booked a 1.30pm flight so my parents and I went to the airport a little early so we can check out the Duty Free and maybe have our last minute pasalubong shopping.

Beside the famous Hsin Tung Yang store is a nice noodle house that serves this really huge Taiwan-style noodle bowls. I noticed that in Taiwan, they use this flat rice noodles to almost anything–as part of their soup bowls and even used in replacement to pasta.

Anyway, my bowl is a simple pork-topped flat noodle bowl with some veggies. I also enjoyed the bonito flakes that came on the side.

Finally, for dessert, I decided to have some egg tarts. I love egg tarts and these are just NT50.00 for 2 pieces–that’s roughly about Php75.00 for 2.

So there you go. This basically sums up my entire trip in Taipei this 2015. In my next post, I’ll be sharing with you my Hong Kong trip from last week. 🙂

Ciao!

The food look so yummy! And ang mura pa. The mall looks so classy. Halatang mamahalin ang mga nasa loob. 🙂 Ang laki ng serving ng noodle na binili niyo. I won’t be able to finish that in one sitting. haha
