Product Review: La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme

I’ve noticed that there are a lot of French skin care brands coming in the Philippines lately (e.g. Avene, Bioderma, Marilou Bio, and I heard Caudalie is coming here soon!). Who’s complaining, anyway? Known for their highly effective formulas, reasonable prices and their use of hydrating thermal water, these French skincare secrets is something I would love to come here with open arms.

I’ve never really been a fan of BB Creams nor CC Creams when it first hit the country a couple of years ago. The Asian ones I’ve tried are too white, too heavy and too dewy for my preference. This La Roche-Posay is the first European BB Cream I’ve tried–and actually loved! <3

Skin type / Problematic: Sensitive skin – all skin types. Earnings: Perfecting effect on skin. Anti-dull effect. Properties: In only one step, it moisturizes, soothes and protects the skin. The BB mineral pigments melt in the skin for an immediately unified, evened and fresh-faced complexion. Its smooth and non-greasy texture softens and supples the skin. Tested under dermatological control. Paraben-free. Non comedogenic. Hypoallergenic. Nickel-controlled*. Available in 2 shades. (*formulated to contain only the minimum quantity of nickel). Paraben free

La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme is the first BB cream with La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water under its Hydreane line, which is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. What I love about this product is that it has a very light sheer coverage and blends really well. The product is non-greasy so it’s okay to be used in our country’s humid weather. SPF is only 20, though. Also, since the product is light-weight, La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme may not be suitable for girls with too much pigmentation or acne scars.

Another thing to note about French skincare products is that they try their best to make things as pure as possible. The scent of this La Roche-Posay BB Cream is very mild and very clean. Unlike its usual Asian counterparts where you can smell the chemical-ness of the product, or the American’s too aesthetically fragrant version.

La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme is available in two shades Light and Medium. I went for the latter as I’m trying to put a hint of color on my face. Since the product works much like a tinted moisturizer, it’s perfect in giving me that natural-looking fake tan, if you know what I mean. 😉

See how I don’t look as white anymore? 🙂

Unfortunately, La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB Creme is still not available in retail stores. I got mine online at about Php1,200 for a 40ml tube.

Have you heard of this brand? How about tried any of its products? Let me know through the comments!
