Foodie Review: Dekada, Glorietta 3

Amidst the hustle and bustle of our urban lives, sometimes, we just want to come home to some good old home-cooking to comfort us at the end of the day.

This is exactly what inspired Dekada, a member of Sumosam Restaurant Concepts, to offer home-cooked goodness that celebrates the roots of authentic Filipino cuisine.

While the menu is filled with Filipino dishes that are all traditionally prepared, Dekada complements your authentic Filipino dining experience by having delicately adorned interior.

Dekada Brand Manager Leah Estrada shared that these antique Filipino ornaments are actually from one of the owners of Sumosam Restaurant Concepts, straight from his own home. These old books, comics, radio, and other antique ornaments add to the homey feel of Dekada.

Among the best-sellers are Dekada’s Augustino–which is bagoong rice topped with grilled liempo, green mango slices, and scrambled eggs (Php328.00); Aguinaldo–their famous twice-cooked adobo (Php368.00); and their made-from-scratch puto bumbong (Php148.00).

Aside from the twice-cooked adobo, I really loved their sinigang na sugpo in kamias called Yamashita (Php389.00). The food served at Dekada takes you back to memory lane when your lola would make sinigang from scratch versus when your yaya would conveniently use sinigang powder.

Dekada is perfect for family and friends who would love to have traditionally-prepared Filipino home-cooked dishes. I was telling Leah and Khaezel that Dekada might also be perfect for first-time tourists or even visiting balikbayans.

Thank you Leah and Khaezel, brand managers of Sumosam Restaurant Concepts, for having us.
